I went Autozone to check out two filters for my 2008 Volvo XC90 3.2L. This is the Extended Life "10k Mile" filter. Looks somewhat similar to the OEM M+H filter. Pretty sure this came with a silicon O-ring in the box. You can also check out the other filter I'll be posting that claims it's the "5k miles" version HERE.

The endcaps do look very similar to Mann cartridge type seen on BMW cartridges and others. Appears to be a well-made cartridge.
99.9% sure it's a Chinese "Knock off" of OEM Mann cartridge but agree with you they look pretty darn good.
I like the design. My Baldwins are Taiwanese and work great and dirt cheap too. VW models

Only thing I can think about that would cause me concern is doing a c & p. Not sure how to get that foam style ends off short of just cutting them off. 😅
Any ratings relevant to particle size filtration or dirt holding capacity?

IDK, Mann has filter operations in China, seen a good number of spin on filter anecdotes from them with that coo. 'Could be' they are making the topic cartridge for AZ STP XL there. In any case, as noted, on appearance looks to be a quality cartridge.

I know the Mann version would show "Made in Germany" but as you well know things change as fast as a finger snapping. Also, Interesting on my scouring the net appears the Champ Labs P842 is sourced from the exact location.

I've sent an email to Champ Labs to see if they tell me anything.

What info does Mann provide for their version ?

Looks like a PG Inc filter made at the China "Advance Filtration Inc" (AFI) factory.

If it's reassuring, been using their S11473XL extended life filter for my Merc GLC300 4Matic since day one along with M1 ESP 0W30, and all good after three oil changes. Only drive about 6,000 miles per year with vast majority as short trips 2 to 5 miles, wife's vehicle. AutoZone seems to be constantly running a deal for the purchase of the two (5 quarts) for about $40. Still need an extra quart to give me the six quarts needed for the complete fill.
