STJLR.03.5006 - Liqui Moly Top Tec 6600 vs Valvoline Euro Vehicle

Here is an analysis for the 6600. I also ran the Valvoline euro, but it was definitely louder and my gut just didn't like the oil. I didn't run a UOA on it.

I'm running 0w40 Castrol euro at the moment. Prob switch to 0w40 M1 for the next change as it is cheaper and has similar specs.
Did you UOA the 0w40 castrol euro?

How long have you been running 0W40 for? Any quieter than the 0 or 5W20?

This is my last analysis for comparison. Also using 6600 0W20. I was using LiquiMoly Special Tec LR 5W20 previously.

Your calcium levels are a lot higher than @mm3846 . Any insight? I thought calcium levels were intentionally low on boosted direct injection oils, but these are 600ppm higher on your sample.

I couldn't tell you exactly why they are higher, Blackstone believed it to be part of their additive package. Spedestrian's UOA post above seems to indicate it is indeed part of their additive package. I've read that they try and keep Ca lower to help prevent LSPI.

A little over 5k miles now. I try to do 6-6500mi OCI. Actually yesterday morning I heard a startup rattle I never did before, but it could have been anything. These motors are so dang loud. Could have even been a little piston slap as this thing nears 100k miles on it. I have to keep telling my brain these motors don't make valve train noise, it's all DI noise. And honestly, it's an old Rover and I treat it as such.

Who knows. Could be some leftover from the last oil, could be my motor used up the calcium.

Here is my uoa on lm 6600. I switched to mobil 1 esp 5w-30 since I wanted an oil with a higher ht/hs

That's why I went to 0w40.
