I just paid $7.99/lb for these three in Cave City, KY.Yes I agree $8 bucks for Ribeye is a great price. I have never seen anything like that here.

Those do look pretty awesome.
I remember being in Reno late at night where there was a place that had a diner style 8 oz sirloin steak and eggs on the late night menu for maybe $7. But that was back at a time when casinos tended to have a lot of loss leaders hoping to get people in to gamble.
Harris teeter is expensive. I shop at one in dc and the prices are much higher than NJ. I’ve heard that’s typical, not just because of the location. Those do look pretty awesome.
Best deal this week at Harris Teeter was strip - supposedly Angus but I have my doubts - for 12.99. Strip is not my favorite but 4 will go on the grill tomorow.
They are if you buy regular price, but its all relative. We have Walmart, Publix, Lowes Foods, and Harris Teeter. Of those Walmart is cheapest but not by much and its really not very good. I usually do the Harris Teeter specials, and they have the best produce of the bunch. They are slowly going down hill since they were bought out by Kroger, so that might be part of it where you are as well - HT corporate used to be Charlotte NC.Harris teeter is expensive. Got this when in France. Incredibly delicious

Yeah Publix pop up all over but I’ve heard their prices are poor. We don’t have them up by us. Wegmans pop up claiming consistently lower prices, but I’ve never seen it. It seems like Costco. Where folks who want to avoid other demographic groups go to shop and feel good about it, meanwhile calling out others and showing how enlightened they are…They are if you buy regular price, but its all relative. Current price on a Strip at walmart is $13.49. There never is a special. Lowes Foods and Publix are crazy priced. I should just eat more Edisto Shrimp.

Just stopped at Karns. Strangely, they didn’t have any ribeye. They are if you buy regular price, but its all relative. We have Walmart, Publix, Lowes Foods, and Harris Teeter. I tend to not get sirloin, because I think they often are very tough - I think there cutting too far into the but end of the cow - where the round's come from, and there just calling it sirloin. Technically the sirloin should be pretty close to where the porterhouse is coming from, so if thats the case its likely pretty good.Just stopped at Karns. Strangely, they didn’t have any ribeye.

I personally prefer a rare-medium rare sirloin, so I got this:

Got a whole one - $129 worth, they cut it into 1” steaks for me.
I really like sirloin and even a nicely seasoned and not overdone (rare to medium rare) London broil.I tend to not get sirloin, because I think they often are very tough - I think there cutting too far into the but end of the cow - where the round's come from, and there just calling it sirloin. My fav is usually a T-bone - and its just to the rib end side of the porterhouse. Seems to make it a little leaner or something.
I suppose every cow is different.
Same. A properly cooked/grilled sirloin is awesome in my book.I really like sirloin and even a nicely seasoned and not overdone (rare to medium rare) London broil.
Yeah I love a t-bone. But I also prefer the leaner meats. One of the reasons why I’m not so much a fan of ribeye is that there’s too much fat waste versus protein. You don’t have to ruin a sirloin by overdoing it.
I gotta find that place
