ST synthetic oil change intervals

for the price i cant justify Super Tech oil. there are name brand synthetic blends, high mileage oils, and sometimes even full synthetics on sale that cost about the same and you know their origin. i just can't trust an oil that has several different manufactures under the same label in the US. but to answer your question, imo if i used Super Tech synthetic i would probably run it no more than 5-6k. for most other full syn's, that would be the minimum i'd run em.

I've used a lot of Supertech Synthetic, in my wifes 97 Maxima, at 5 to 6k oci's. Her Maxima has over 286K mi. on it and seldom uses a quart of oil between changes.
ST was all I used from 2005 to until very recently. It was quite the bargain when it was $11.88 for a 5 quart jug. But with ST going up in price to ~$17 and PP/RTS/Synpower all hovering around the $20 mark, I won't be buying ST anymore. I think I am down to maybe 2 quarts of ST.
I'm sure 10k is possible, but I would get a used oil analysis to be sure. It's a used engine, so you don't really know what's going on inside. Maybe start with a 7k oci, used oil analysis it and if the oil looks to be in good shape stretch it out next time to 10k.
If you call the oil manufacture they would recommend the car manufactures oil change interval.
It doesn't have the stoutest additive package especially the TBN, Which is one of the determining factors of the oil change interval. It will last as long as anyother oil with a like TBN.

Why not?? Baking soda works on everything else from neutralizing battery acid to removing odors from your refrigerator!!!
