Printed on the top of my colorful Amsoil cardboard shipping box is "SSO-04"

What does the 04 refer to? Does that mean there's also SSO-03 and SSO-02 , SSO-01 ?

Which is the best SSO?

This special "SSO-04" designation isn't found anywhere on the bottles, just on the cardboard shipping box in one spot.

That's just the old internal labeling system that Amsoil used on all of their products. It has nothing to do with what's inside the bottles. SSO is always SSO - their is only one type.

I believe SSO-04 used to be a case of gallons (or a case of quarts)? Can't remember exactly right now. Perhaps Gary or Pablo can clarify further for you.

Now, they use a new system...

1 quart - SSOQT-EA
case of qts - SSOQT-CA
gallon - SSO1G-EA
case of gallons - SSO1G-CA

You can find all of their order codes on their website right beside the corresponding product. Each product has a unique identifier, which is the first 3 letters.

Thanks, that explains it.

The box is used for shipping 4 one-gallon jugs, even though I just bought 2 gallons and a quart. They must have evicted 2 of the jugs.
