Southwest flight at DIA evacuated after cell phone catches fire

I always wondered why they started installing chargers on all these planes. Aren't these batteries most likely to start fire while charging?
They’re most likely to start a fire when damaged.

So, the advice on not moving the seat is good advice and part of our safety brief.

Further, this video just shows how disappointing our fellow air travelers truly are - under an evacuation for a fire, they are grabbing all their crap from the overhead bin, clogging the aisles, moving slow, and of course, taking video.

Doing practically anything except getting off the airplane quickly.

Such fools.

NMH, anything is better than a battery that just decides to self ignite. L ion is the cause of many homes lost. Oh and they can not be shipped on aircraft, I wonder why?
Then your smart phone would be over 2x as thick and be heavier. The battery would have a useful life of about a little over a year and charge somewhat slower.

Certain phones seemed to be better than others. Not sure if it's quality control or manufacturer or maybe both. I remember the short time the Samsung Galaxy S9 or 10 was out it was banned by all carriers due to so many catching fire.
