Snowing in NE. Maryland!

3 years ago (April 12th) we were leaving for our honeymoon and the night before we got 11 inches of snow. We couldn't get out of the driveway because the city plow had formed a 4' pile at the end. Our flight was the first one that wasn't cancelled at 7am.

Moral of the story is that nothing can surprise me anymore in this state. We've gotten up to 6" in May.

We got around 3 in on Tues. Set a record for most snowfall this late in the season. Melted the same day, though, as a warmer front moved in right after the snow ended.

It snowed like crazy here in south central Missouri on Tuesday. Covered vehicles but the ground was too warm for much more than a dusting.

It was either Monday or Tuesday night we had a dusting of snow here in south central KY about 15 miles from the TN state line.

There's been about 6 inches between yesterday and today . Windchill is wicked at this time . Most has melted . Not ideal for mowing . Grass is getting high .

Strong mid level disturbance coming across the mid Atlantic region today... Very cold air aloft combined with moisture from the Great Lakes and some sun create a unstable atmosphere.

I'd bet good money at 3,500 feet it was 35 degrees today even in my area in southeast Va. Surface temp was 55°F in my area.

Interesting how this strong cold high pressure settled in a similar way to what happened in February in the Midwest. Though not settling has far south as the ones in February. Many, many times cold air fronts trajectory move from the northwest to the southeast. This winter those fronts took more of a north to south route.
