Strong mid level disturbance coming across the mid Atlantic region today... Very cold air aloft combined with moisture from the Great Lakes and some sun create a unstable atmosphere.
I'd bet good money at 3,500 feet it was 35 degrees today even in my area in southeast Va. Surface temp was 55°F in my area.
Interesting how this strong cold high pressure settled in a similar way to what happened in February in the Midwest. Though not settling has far south as the ones in February. Many, many times cold air fronts trajectory move from the northwest to the southeast. This winter those fronts took more of a north to south route.
