That sounds interesting - i'll definately have to try that combination. I agree about Prince Albert missing something, this just might be a hit. I'll report back and let you know how it went.

My friends bought me a pipe as a joke for my 50th birthday. I make sure to smoke it every time I'm at their house. I now smoke it with the guys in lieu of cigars.

The tobacco (rose variety) I smoke was grown in my back yard two years ago. At least I know I'm smoking 100% tobacco, unlike the commercial stuff that contains floor sweepings and reconstituted paper. I tell others that my tobacco is the healthiest! At the rate I smoke, the tobacco from the 40 plants I grew should last me around 20 years.

Love pipe smoking. Took it up about 6 years ago and own many different pipes. Several pipes are estate deals (used), others I've gotten brand new (the break-in time required can be daunting). I have mostly briars..and three corn cobs, plus a long church warden. My favorite is a Savinelli Bing's Favorite in rusticated finish. I get my tobacco from Iwan Ries in Chicago. Pretty much stick with mild aromatics with an occasional venture elsewhere. Can't stand the latakia stuff nor do I handle the powerful nicotine ones (can you say 'puke alot'?). I've been through many different lighters too but found that my favorite flame comes from a zippo pipe lighter (or plain stick matches as well).
I can honestly say that I've never become addicted to the pipe as I can put it down for a week or more with no problem at all. I just enjoy the pleasure of a good bowl once or twice a week. Very relaxing....and as with most aromatics the room note pleases those around me. It's truly a time-honored activity and one of the 'manly' arts (such as using a straight razor or polishing ones shoes the old way).
