I tend to agree on all of Bills 6 points. (I won't use the Quote function, I like to see what I type)
So I won't buy one!
But I hold no grudge to anyone who does.
Now when I see someone that routinely drives an over sized, Gas guzzling behemoth (and not utilizing it's Cargo/passenger capacity) I admit I do get a little antsy, especially if they can't park the freaking thing properly!
I think many people drive these as a 'Fashion statement' Evey bit as much as some people drive Smart cars. But they pose more of danger to me if they involve me in an accident :-(
Why the animosity? I think jcwit may have hit the nail on the head.
Like it or not, in North America particularly, "Times they are a changing", we are beginning to feel the pinch on many fronts, things WILL have to change, and we WILL have to do more with less, none of us like changes like this, it's not a pleasant prospect.
Smart cars are just another visual reminder of that.
