No. There are some full synthetic 5w-20 oils too, for example M1.

Also, what about PYB 5w-20? Isn't it mineral? Or is it a blend?

Martin10, welcome to the forum!

I've seen it stated that most modern oils that bear the SM or SN designation are technically semi-synthetic, requiring some type of synthetic material to meet some of the performance requirements that they meet (even those marketed as "conventional" oil). I've never seen it stated that 5W-20 in particular is a semi-synthetic grade.

The Fleet Farm house brand of 5W-20, Resolute, was labeled as a syn blend even back when it was a SM API oil.

Now that they're all SN, even the 5w30 and 10W-30 are labeled as syn blends.

I'd surmise that any SN 5W-20 now contains some amount of Group III, it's just a matter of how much is needed to meet the SN spec.

Yes there are. But do they all have a synthetic component? I think so based on Hokiefyd's response. Thanks.

Dino 5W20's carried at my nearest WM are GTX,VWB,and PYB. They have that weight in synth blend/semi synth with Syntec Blend and MC.
