Not only skilled as an actor, but she had a nerdy look that fit her roles.

She had pretty severe mental issues. Sometimes I wonder if the abuse she endured during the making of The Shining triggered those problems. Seeing her in her later years was almost shocking. She looked rather neglected. The cause of death was complications from diabetes. Sad.
