This weekend I researched air filtering on the stock bike. After reading a few threads I realized the carb breather (small circular tube laying just beside the stock airbox) filter needs periodic attention along with the main airbox filter. The carb breather filter is often neglected, leading to premature carb wear.
The solution is to pull that small circular foam out of the breather tube, clean & oil, reinsert and then add another layer of oiled No-Toil dual layer filtering material on top. I got a small sheet from a 50cc bike for $7. I'll cut what I need from it to add extra protection to that BST carb.
I also ordered the No-Toil 270-02, and their evolution oil kit for the stock airbox. That's as far as my intake mods will go this year. I need to focus on the list above!
