Severe driving

Just wondering if this would be considered a severe driving condition: driving between 10 and 20 miles in stop-and-go city traffic over a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour?

The speed ranges between 25 and 35 mph. I have a very light foot and drive a 2006 4-cylinder Camry LE. Since I have such a light foot and the posted speed limits are so low, I wonder if my oil heats up adequately to boil off water and contaminants in only 30 minutes to an hour?

Do you think I should get my synthetic oil changed every 3,000 miles or wait the usual 5,000?

Your transmission may be seeing severe service. I'm sure that you're oil is getting up to temp.

What's your annual mileage? Is that 10-20 miles over 30 minutes "times two" ..or are you performing some loop that returns you to where the car is parked? Otherwise, you're doing 30-40 miles a day ..much of it in a warmed up state.

What's your typical fuel economy? What's your peak fuel economy?

5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first....

That's what recommended for my 05 Sienna as well. I guess it covers all driving conditions. Just read you owner's manual and stick with recommended schedule.
