So, I decided on the Kendall 5w30 synthetic for both the Focus and Elantra. A case thru Petroleum Service Company is 38.21 so not bad for this oil. This means all I need from Wal Mart is a FRAM UKTRA filter when that time comes. I was researching member AITG's UOA's with the Kendall also

12 qts for $44 is a good deal for a full synthetic. Unless I change my mind before then, this is what will go into my two vehicles for their next oil change.

Just in case anyone is thinking about buying it (at BigD1's link)---you can get the synthetic for the same price, if you only want to buy 6 quarts (1/2 case). 22 for half a case, 44 for a full case. Comparing it to 5 quart jugs, it is $18.35 for 5 quarts of it.

I thought you said you can't use 5W-30 because of the warranty. Do I need to go find the post ?

Yeah man that's got to be a good oil there Captain. It actually has close to or over 100 ppm of titanium in it.

I ran Kendall GT-1 0W-20 F/S in my Explorer and Kendall Super-Dxa 15W-40 SynBlend in my PSD. Both oils were great, the only catch is in my area there are other oils more readily available and more cost effective. You have made a good choice!

We use it at work 5w20,5w30 and the 5w30 dexos full synthetic never had a problem one with the stuff. Very good quality motor oil for more than a fair price😀

I'm sure Kendall is very good oil and your engines will be well-protected with it car51. For me, I have decided that if synthetic is not required, then I am going to use conventional ... which makes sense for me anyway because I don't do extended OCIs. With my past vehicles, I only used conventional oil. In my Elantra, I have used synthetic, synblend, and conventional. I have decided that from here on out it will only be conventional. Moreover, I don't order motor oil for myself ... there are plenty of high quality motor oils readily available in various stores in my area, both name brands and store brands, and I like to give my support to those stores.

Anyway, you have chosen a great oil. Being a part of BITOG, it will probably be difficult to stick with one oil though.

Kendall is a great oil. Took a 1996 Freightliner with a Cummins N-14 to 1.4 million miles on a Kendall 15w40 conventional, getting 30,000 mile oil changes, and all I ever had to do to the engine was one injector and one accessory drive seal. Went right to work for next owner.

Hey Merk, Kendall make a very nice synthetic 10W-30, you should give that a go.

ThirdEye: price was $41~ as my brother is going to the PSC place to pick up the oil as he will be in my area this week so he'll stop by with the cases of oil
