I have 5 quarts of Schaeffer's Micron Moly 10W40. Since they no longer make it, should I use it for an oil change on a 1998 Trans Am that takes 6 quarts and top off using another Schaeffer's product such as #700 15W40? Thanks for the replies.

I'm a Schaeffers user (7000, 9000) - but I'm not sure what's up with Micron Moly. How does it compare to 7000 - I just read up on the viscosities of MM that they still sale, and it looks like it's essentially a 100% grp II+ (or equivalent) while 7000 is a blend. If that's the case, and since the MM 10w40 is 100% parafin, then it should be excellent stuff - given the quality of the base stock and the track record of Schaeffers add pack (which apparently is very similar between 7000 and MM).

Schaeffer has an excellent reputation on BITOG.
