I've researched AMSOIL ASL, ATM grp IV, Redline grp V and now Schaeffer 9003 grp III/IV. I've read the UOA's. Out of the 3 which do you think has the best additive package for high performance driving? I'm down to 3 (please, no PP or others) AMSOIL, Redline, or Schaeffer? I know all 3 are excellent but which one would you use?

I think this will help me and our viewers out there.

The UOA's show good and bad on all of them depending on engine condition. Thanks.

From experience I can say I trust Amsoil oils in higher performance cars and so do a lot of people up at the local motor sport ranch.

I think Amsoil, Redline, and Schaeffer, is a good recipe for a blend.

1 for AMSOIL, 1 for all 3, 1 for Redline.....do I hear AMSOIL, Redline, we have a tie!......who will stand up next?....you sir?...how 'bout the young lady?...who else?

Can't answer the question.

You need to let people know what type of car/engine, what OCI and how do you drive it? (track, etc)

Then people may come up with answers that could have some value.

Take care, bill

Too bad...next!

[You need to let people know what type of car/engine, what OCI and how do you drive it? (track, etc)]

You mean let you know..;-) 4cyl redline 8K drive it hard, and one of the 3 above.

[How many miles on the engine/car and any concern for warranty issues?]

Gee...that leaves all 3 out! can't have that...10K miles.

Don't discount the Blend. I'm running a Schaeffer/Synpower/VSOT blend currently, and I am changing it to another blend this weekend.(UOA coming soon) Coming up with your own blend and ratios helps ease the pain caused by BITOG OCD.

-Plus you get to name your blend!

Schaeffer is beating out Ams and Redline in the Nissan VQs under normal driving, no track days.

I have a question.....you say no track days for Schaeffer but can you use non-racing Redline and AMSOIL for track days?

Great info folks keep it coming. (Of course we won't get the oil geeks ;-) on this thread because they need your car history and bio.)

I'm detailed at my job but so much here. Viewers want both detailed info or bottom line skinny. So, folks who want to post but feel intimidated to post on BITOG keep it simple and to the point. Some people are looking for that. That's what this thread is about, which of the 3 do YOU think produces the best synthetic?

1.Schaeffer
2.Schaeffer
3.Schaeffer
Seriously, How could you possibly go wrong with any of the three. I would choose the most cost-effective one simply due to the fact that they all are top-notch oils.

You will never know untill you run 2X oil changes and do a UOA on the second fill. Different oils act different depending on the engine, the condition of the engine and the duty cycle. If possible at least find some UOAs on the same engine as a start. JMO Ed

Exactly and we have 3 great oils.

1.Schaeffer
2.Schaeffer
3.Schaeffer

Wow, 3 votes for Schaeffer all in one post. ;-)

AMSOIL, Redline and Schaeffer.

Redline's price is high. Schaeffer is a value as well as AMSOIL. I'm leaning towards AMSOIL ATM 10w30 for my car. One tough oil and good UOA's. A 10w30 I can use in this state (it doesn't get cold here just floods)I can get AMSOIL as a preferred customer for $5.50,60,or 70 (I can't remember) case price. I've seen ATM in stores as high as 9 bucks a quart. About $6.00 and some change for Schaeffer 9003 case price shipped. Redline at my auto store for 8,9 bucks.

PER QUART!

Schaeffers can cost even less if purchased in higher quantity. I have placed several Schaeffers orders for over $300. With the "free" shipping the Schaeffers was a great value. For smaller orders like a couple cases of oil and some filters, Amsoil may come out ahead in value if purchased at PC price. I found Redline at a used BMW dealer near me that stocks some stuff, but usually the price is too high. I would have to agree with others, that all 3 companies make great stuff- just find one that works for you and not too inconvenient/expensive to purchase.
