The price difference here is 4.80 for 4 quarts. I actually only need 3.2 so would be even cheaper later on.

The car is a Toyota Corolla 4ALC engine that is rebuilt coming up on 1.5 k miles really quick so not going into is one better then the other but would I really see much of a difference in wear and protection? I would be doing 6 month or 6 kmiles OCI.

Both are good oils, and each will prove superior to the other in certain engines. Try them both and compare.

I'd pick Mobil 1 bc it seems to do so well in Toyota's. I think Toyotas and M1 work extremely well together based on UOA.

I've been using RP for about seven years now with great results which include a smoother running engine and better fuel economy than the Mobil 1 I had been using. My car is a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim with the 3.0 V6 and 175,000 miles bought new by my mother and synthetically lubed since 1,000 miles.
I reciently switched my neighbors 1987 MB 300 SD Turbodiesel over to RP 15w40 from Amsoil and he couldn't believe the difference in how much smoother and quieter his engine was. As a matter of fact he said it was the first synthetic he had ever used that he could actually feel the difference and he has been using synthetic since 1975 and I have been using synthetic since 1978.

I used the Royal Purple for three changes of 7500 miles. Did a UOA and was not happy with the results. Switched to Mobil 1 and two UOA's later could not be happier! This is in a Mazda Miata. I think the Royal Purple formula has been changed since I used it but that is my experience.
