RP 0/5w40 vs. M1 TDT 5w40

First of all, I am looking for advice for my Champion 6000/7000 watts generator.

Has anyone used RP 5w40 or 0w40 in their OPE. I know M1 TDT 5w40 is a proven product, but would like to know RP 0/5w40's shear stability compared to TDT 5w40.

I am somewhat interested in the RP is because I have a similiar experience to Pete591. I recalled putting RP 5w20 in my Honda mower GCV160 and it made it noticeably quieter running. I hope the RP will also quiet the generator.

So how shear stable is RP 0/5w40? And RP 5w40 vs 0w40? Thank you.

Don't know the answer you are looking for, but my 20 year old Honda mower uses M1 5-30 as does my Subaru generator engine.

Here's the info I have on HTHS for the oils in question:

RP 0w40 - 3.6 (per an e-mail from Chris at RP)

RP 5w40 - (This one I don't know, but you could easily call / e-mail RP and find out)
