Heart attack in his sleep.Hope it wasn't painful for him.Dusty Rhodes a few weeks back and now Piper...

not saying this "athlete" in particular but roids and drugs are hard on a body and tons were using them(or is that using them by the ton) esp in the 1980's

I remember Piper's Pit being one of my favorite parts of WWF.

I've caught him a couple times on one of Adam Carolla's podcasts. Fantastic storyteller.

Wrestlers have been dying left and right lately. They seem to make it about 55-60 years old, and that's all their bodies have left in them.

Hulk Hogan will probably be gone in a year or two.

Ultimate Warrior died one day after getting inducted into the wrestling hall of fame. Macho Man Randy Savage died a few years ago while driving his Jeep.

Most of them live and work out in Florida. I have met a few of them in pretty odd places over the years. Met Hogan in Clearwater. Met Hacksaw Jim Duggan in Cocoa Beach.

Hawk from the Road Warriors died of a heart attack... so did Rick Rude.

I'm surprised Hogan's heart is still pumping after all the roids he pumped into his body over the years.

He was my favourite wrestler. Even heard him talk in Gaelic once. The only guy that could really raise my interest in wrestling. It saddens me as Pipers Pit was good and he made a lot of good points. I wish Fox news had hired him to ask the tough stuff. RIP Rowdy Piper..My childhood hero

Yep, pro wrestling tough lifestyle/profession. Many haven't lived as long as Dusty and Rowdy Roddy.

RIP RR.

It will really hit hard for me when the stars of ECW start passing. I remember my mom didn't care if I watched WCW or WWF/E, but she hated ECW. So I would sneak and stay up late or tape ECW so I could watch Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, Sabu, Rob Van Dam, and Terry Funk.

Rowdy Roddy Piper was my favorite WWF wrester growing up. My childhood friend was a fan of Hulk Hogan (who wasn't!). We'd watch all the WWF events and the Saturday morning cartoon. I had a Rowdy Roddy Piper action figure. RIP
