Well my other cat Chloe aka Coco passed away this am at 0659. Yesterday she was breathing 10 times a minute. Her heartbeat was at 145-150 beats per minute. I knew that her breathing was slow and had been for awhile.

I went out at 0320 am to give her some time alone to see if she would pass away when no one was there. She didn’t. At around 645 am I listened to her with my electronic stethoscope and her heartbeat was 125 then as I held it in her it dropped to 90. I let her be for a minute and checked again and it went from upper 70s to the 120-130 range. Which then I knew that she knew I was there. I talked with while doing that and petting her. Then she passed away at 0659 and confirmed no heartbeat with my stethoscope. My lady there when she passed away.

It was a relief in a way because she was so strong and we both thought she could have passed away several days/ nights before.

I love you Coco girl… You were so much fun, loving and super tough and strong.

Pretty girl...
@bbhero when you are ready, remember there are thousands of kittys that need a loving home.

Absolutely Jeffk.

The lady and I have already spoken about going to either the shelter near us here or over in our home county of Gloucester to get another kitty. We are looking forward to adopting another kitty that is between 1-2 years old.. Maybe older we will see. I remember how my first cat came over to me. And then our second cat Matilda came right up to me and when I rubbed my fingers together and she rubbed her head against my fingers. Then I knew she was the one.

Looking forward to doing that again fairly soon

Condolences extended.
How old a cat was Chloe?
We have a tortie with an accented nose.

edit: The first "whisker picture" is priceless.

Sorry for your loss. I had to put one of our 18 year old cats down my self a month or so back after the wife ran over her. It was a Sunday and no place was open and she was suffering. I had to taker her into the woods. She actually calmed down as if she knew what was coming. She let me comfort her and turned her back on me so I did not have to look her in the face. That will stay with me a long time.

Now, it appears the other one, the mother of the one I put down who was in much worse shape (old age, etc..) seems to be near the end. I am going to have to bring her in next week to do it the right way. It will be tough but nothing like what I went thru with my favorite of the two.
