My other cat Chloe passed away this am

Sorry for your loss. I had to put one of our 18 year old cats down my self a month or so back after the wife ran over her. It was a Sunday and no place was open and she was suffering. I had to taker her into the woods.
She actually calmed down as if she knew what was coming. She let me comfort her and turned her back on me so I did not have to look her in the face. That will stay with me a long time.

Honestly, that would be my worst nightmare /
Maybe it has something to do with age; the older I get, the softer I become toward animals /

Me too. Always have been kind to them. More so now....
Working extra hard also to be respectful of people I encounter too as I get older. I thought about it one day when I ran into mean , disagreeable folks..... "hey, maybe they are dealing with stuff so bad I have no idea. I know how bad I feel a lot." Puts me in bad mood.
I started looking at all a lot differently. I try not to cause bad feelings or any kind of stress on anyone these days." Now, if I can quit typing on BITOG  so much that could probably bring Joy to the World too! 😏

Pretty girl...
@bbhero when you are ready, remember there are thousands of kittys that need a loving home.

Shelters across the U.S. are overwhelmed . Some are turning animals away because of it 😞 . We try donate often because of this issue . Higher living costs are a big reason . I've seen nearby shelters asking for help on the local news . Donated after watching it .

Based on this photo of Mickey, my working theory is that a marauding Norse or Mongol tomcat from times past spread his seed at least from the Canadian Prairies to coastal California.
