When I was a tech at VW, in one of the seminars attended, oil specs came up and was said that CR TDI’s run 1900 degrees plus at the turbine inlet with lower piston crevice volume and rings that are right at the top of the crown, totally destroys any HDEO. In the ALH have seen some 15w40 users come in with low compression. TDI’s run way way hotter than typical diesels.
