Y'all:

Today I was rotating the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires on my 2003 E46 330Ci ZSP (5-speed manual), trying to eeek out as much tread life as possible. I bought the car new, special ordering it from the factory because I didn't want a sunroof. I never used the car for commuting, it's never spent a single night parked outside, it's covered while parked in the garage, and it's never once been driven in the rain or on a wet road. Even so, I hand wash the undercarriage every year during my summer "annuals", along with brake bleeding and drivetrain fluid changes. Not once since I took possession has anyone else but me touched it. I do 100% of my own work except for emissions testing and alignments.

Anyway, I had the wheels off today... The car will be 16 years old this February 2019, and it has just shy of 89K miles - so it's been driven.

BMW has for years used sliding calipers, even on most of their M-series cars. However, they seem to be using more fixed calipers on their very latest M-series cars. Do take notice, I have floating rotors on the front of my E46. They are "BMW Performance" parts with BMW part numbers that were originally sold by BMW dealerships. The car has been extensively modified with carefully selected parts from only the most reputable manufacturers and suppliers. Here is the list.

A joy to behold.

HUMOR: Since I was a kid I always thought "body sealer" (the wiped-on plastic compound visible in pictures 5 & 6) looked like cake icing.

Thanks agaiin all.

You're being very kind, Jeff. My wife calls me OCD. I take care of all our stuff like this. I even wash the floors in our house on my hands and knees so I can get the corners and edges.

I've always thought the same thing!
