Rock Auto? Legit place to buy GM oil filters like PF63? Never bought from them before, prices are cheap makes me wonder if parts are legit
Warranties, GM is kinda particular on the oil filterWhy go to the trouble in getting your oil filter. Just referenced the GM oil filter number and get a Fram at WM.
Just make sure it all ships from same Waterhouse.I have filled most of a freezer door with RockAuto magnets. I have never had an issue with counterfeit parts from them.
Try to order as much as you can at once to reduce the cost of shipping per item. Otherwise, it may be cheaper to get filters from Amazon or Walmart.
Ya just don’t know what you’re gonna get with Rock Auto. I’ve never heard of anyone getting counterfeit from there but defects and outdated filters 4 sure.Rock Auto? Legit place to buy GM oil filters like PF63? Never bought from them before, prices are cheap makes me wonder if parts are legit
Yes, GM or any other car makers don't require people to use the OEM brand filter or parts. If they did, your statement would apply per the MMWA.From the Advance Auto Parts site:
Under the Magnuson – Moss Warranty Act, 15U.S.C. SS 2301-2312 (1982) and general principles of the Federal Trade Commission Act, a manufacturer may not require the use of any brand of filter (or any other article) unless the manufacturer provides the item free of charge under the terms of the warranty.
I wouldn't worry about phonies from Rock Auto but maybe more dented or minor rusted filters. I hope you are buying a larger quantity or bundling the filters with some other parts otherwise the shipping costs will eat up any savings achieved.Rock Auto?
