My Rhino Ramps are probably 10 years old at this point, been left outdoors, inside hot storage units, had blazer parked on them for months, been used to hold up Suburbans, no indication its getting weak or will fail.ZERO possibility I will use plastic ramps. Crazy dangerous.
I got 2 stage steel ramps for low profile vehicles.
I think they are as well but they're expensive and lift a couple of inches less than RR.Looking at lower profile race ramps myself for my Audi (and subarus too but primarily my lowered S4). I looked at RR but I think the Race Ramps are better; I "think".
My German doesn't have a dipstick.Buy German or Subaru and top extract...
No. It's a two part fast expanding closed cell foam.Isn't those fence post foam stuff just the normal canned spray foam stuff?
Fear. What is the OP using the ramps for that require reinforcement? An Abrams tank?
Sure but if they fail the f250 won't kill youWe put an f250 diesel up on my plastic ramps for a little extra room to swing a wrench. If they can hold a powerstroke I have complete confidence they’ll hold my Nissan Altima.
Yup this! You don't know if the silly foam's solvent will actually dissolve the real structural integrity of the Rhino ramp! Don't re-engineer a life safety thing, not even slightly! This is equivalent to "touching up" the welds on a jackstand. Few of us are certified welders, and if a stand needs "touching up", toss it and get another.I agree with other posters that modifying them with structural foam, or whatever, is a bridge too far for the simple reason that you are exposing products to unpredictable chemicals, including solvents, in both directions.
I bought a set of the two-piece 67” Race Ramps and have been really happy with them. I went with the two-piece set so that I can remove the ramp part after getting my car up on the main top portion. That gives me good access to the sides/center of the vehicle and also lets me place a set of jack stands under the pinch welds as a redundant safety measure.Looking at lower profile race ramps myself for my Audi (and subarus too but primarily my lowered S4). Wow suck grammarHow aren't steel ramps actually are more dangerous?
Do you have data?
This. If they were a legitimate risk with ANY-rate of failure, there would be lawsuits galore. Plus, if there was a failure it’s not like both would suddenly pancake and flatten you. I could see maybe an early crack or sag but nothing that would or could take you out in the blink of an eye. I have never given a second thought when pulling a car up on them and a thread full of what ifs won’t change that. I use ramps for convenience so I don’t have to drag out and crawl around under my car positioning a jack and or jack stands. I had steel ramps for years that were my grandads and still have them as a keepsake. There’s no comparison between the two.If there was a real issue with RR's, lawyers would have had them long gone by now and the company would be bankrupt.
RR's are alive and well, just like those who use them. Self included.
I always use my floor jack as a back up to the rhino ramps.
I figure if both of the ramps and the floor jack fail at the same time, that means the grim reaper has struck me with his scythe.

I have no idea how you think foam is going to do anything to help? The ramps are designed to holdYa, I do loose that storage feature but they scare the (blank) out of me. Especially when I see a lot of reviews where they're compromised after the first or second use.
I'm already on thin ice with this idea as my wife has a friend whose husband severely injured himself when a jack stand failed.
