I can confirm that on amazon.ca I'm seeing the same picture appear for the fram filters.
There is possiblity they just started making new version, and it just have not hit the stock yet. Or there may be priority queueue where old stock ships out first and needs to drop below threshold to get new batch ordered. Then you are at the misery of Amazon robots- either they grab new version or old version of the same product(will also depend on warehouse). Until it starts hitting physical stores, you can't be guaranteed to get it from giants like Amazon…

I don't have high hopes for getting this new "P" variant myself. However it has shipped and is still on track for Wednesday. If it is the new revision I will of course C&P it.

Just received email notification the new filter will be here tomorrow. Hopefully they ship the correct one this time
The new "P" version should be a new SKU - yes?
Configuration control in the oil filter world is almost non-existant - saves a lot of effort and money that way. Doubt the SKU changed on the Ultra when they changed the design.
My cars ain’t the wiser. Though anything is better than restricted louvers.
Okay Amazon sometimes just makes me shake my head. The filter will arrive today… not Wednesday. The countdown is on to see what comes in my box!
I doubt Amazon changed the SKU for this. Does not help that Amazon will co-mingle inventory and pull from third party sellers also. I have a feeling that old stock will ship for some time before any new labeled units come into rotation if ever.
Amazon again makes me shake my head.... I got the filter, it is the normal XG4967 no "P" same old box. I go to return the filter and I list wrong item sent, and want a refund. They just let me keep the filter and refunded me the money... When you make some much money I guess the "cents" don't matter... Kinda nuts lol, but okay free filter. Maybe I'll C&P it just cause, though I know there are lots of them on here as is.
I am waiting for amazon.ca to list a xg3614p and see if I can get a free filter too!
Well 2nd filter showed up & will be returned. Same old one.

I prefer them.... it's easy to see what you have and no closed louvers to worry about.
I’m returning it as I paid for it. Just tried to exchange with the same explanation that I ordered and want the new P version as advertised. They won’t take it back for exchange & are only offering a refund at this pointJust got a free filter.
Guess you're not as lucky as @OilyOrangutan (see post 93) ... they gave him a refund and said "keep the filter".
