Retro AK

Totally form over function on this one. Milled receiver is heavier than stamped, wood is heavier than the plastic it came with, bakelite ain't as tough as modern fiber filled nylon.

With all that said, I still like the way it looks.

If you look at the picture of the unmounted bayonet, you see where the guard has the mounting ring on one side only. He doesn't have an option to mount it the other way.

Sweet AK! I've never seen a Bakelite grip and magazine like that, but I haven't seen many old AKs either.

It would also look pretty sweet with the old style blonde wood on it as well.

I considered going with Bulgy wood but the Polish laminate was available and relatively cheap.

I love my AK's..even more than my AR's. They each serve their purpose. If the world goes crazy on the 21st...the AK is what I'll grab first for sure!
