Been using lube control fp60 then fp+ for years, but i just used up my last gallon and they are now only selling quarts, which makes things very expensive. Looking for something more cost effective. I like the way the car runs with a UCL and not having to think about the detergency of the fuel im buying (even though the the cheap gas in town, 76, is top tier).

I've used FPPlus in gas and diesels (yes, it works well in either) for years also. I started it on Terry Dyson's recommendation and the other additive he liked was Renewable Lube's Bio-Plus. I've used it also in gasoline engines. They push cleaning more than UCL in their advertising, but there would be some UCL benefit since it's a bio base. Schaeffer's Soy Ultra is good, but the treatment ratio is so high it's not cost effective. My vote goes to RLI's Bio-Plus.

What's the deal with the treat rate? Looked up both and both soyultra and bioplus recommend 1:2000 as a maintenance rate. Could you be thinking of neutra?

So, purchased by the gallon with shipping to me, so far the cost breakdown per 20gal tank of gas looks like this
FP+ $1.84
BioPlus $0.60
SoyUltra $0.54

Any significant differences that would make bioplus a better option or should i just go with best price?

I was going by the first line of Schaeffer's data sheet that called for one 12 oz bottle per 15 gallons which I guess is clean up. I see in the last line the treat rate is 1:2000. At that rate I would prefer the Schaeffer because I trust the company and their product testing. Maybe one of the Schaeffer reps could clarify dosage.

Dyson liked the Lube Control products because he worked on their testing and had first hand knowledge. I got the sense he liked the RLI product from experience with their oils and a relationship with the people running it. Unspoken, just my sense of it.

Amazon had a 40% off coupon for subscribe and save (which you can push off indefinitely), so i got a gallon of soyultra for $30. Thanks for your help!
