Is the Chevron gas THAT much better?

That's a good sign regarding fresher/drier gas. However, the gas station owner/manager also needs to do the proper maintenance of tanks, filters, pumps for the gas to be reliably good.
They must be keeping up on that as I have not had a slow pump in decades. I would not be surprised if there is a state registration on that they have to follow
 
Note that not all top tier fuels have friction modifiers aside from just detergents that help prevents scraps and wear in pistons. Shell uses it in their V Power, Chevron and Exxon are the other two companies that advertise it for their premium fuels. Outside that I’m not aware of any other fuels that have friction modifiers, definately worth noting since it’s shown to make a difference.
