Yes, as in it has a higher VI and meets more modern approvals
You could easily argue that meeting modern approvals doesn't make it any better. Lots of posts here about Mobil 1 0W40 being not as good as the old formula.
To be pedantic, you and I don't have the new formula
However, I'm not seeing how having a longer list of certs and approvals doesn't make it better
And as I said, it also has a higher VI.
Well, if we look at how it performs in real life, the certs don't make it better. (IMO) I have used Mobil 1 0W40, and found the oil caused high engine noise than I like. GC on the other had made them whisper quite. That alone was good enough for me. I have seen others here with he same findings.
To each his own, but in my world quiter is better..
