For your sake, I hope we never meet on the street because you'll most likely just see my taillights. Hehehe.

I'll mention the engine modifications next time around. It will require a separate piece of paper though. Haha.

Anyway, this isn't about my driving, its about OIL.

I have family(son and grandchildren)that live in Florida and visit there 2-3 times a year. Last visit was late March. Frankly I have not noticed people driving like you say you do. As for not being about your driving, well your boasting is what turned this thread into a discussing about your driving.

He made the wrong assumption so I had to correct him. I'm in no way boasting about my aggressive driving style. Just simply added that my driving record confirms what I say on here about how hard I push the Si on the street.

I take it to auto-x and circuit racing events if they're within a 6 hour drive one way from me and do so quite frequently.

I really think Moly does little in an engine. This oil is so high in Moly and I, looking at so many UOA's, have come to the conclusion Moly does little for wear protection. Thanks Artem! I bet you could get these results easy from a conventional oil. (I know how it is though, I want to try it all too. RL won't be on the list for me, too expensive and unnecessary (for me anyway). I am glad I saw this.

To CATERHAM: Any oil can shear. I know you are very knowledgeable but to say Ester (Grp.V), can't shear is not true.

You're welcome, Chubbs. I actually think the opposite, had I ran the car normally, (or at least somewhat civilized, as the previous oils were ran) I think Redline would perform better and show less wear (as much as a UOA can detect)

This oil was ran hard to justify the price. Haha.

Wear numbers in an inexpensive UOA doesn't tell the whole wear story. Moly is expensive and no formulator like RL, Motul and the Japanese OEM's uses high moly levels without good reason.
Moly has a number of functions in motor oil and a main one in high doses is to reduce the oil's CoF. This translates into more power and greater fuel efficiency.

I never said ester based oils can't shear. What I said was RL 5W-30 has nothing in it that will shear. Specificically I'm referring to the fact that this particular oil contains no polymer VIIs which is what primarily shears in oil.
There are a lot of UOAs of RL VII free street oils such as their 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30 as mentioned, and 10W-30 grades and you won't find one that has shown evidence of oil shear.

I have to agree with CAT on this one. I don't know what you were expecting Chubbs, for the numbers to zero out everywhere when moly is added into the mix? You can't magically expect less wear.

X2. Till one day he kills an innocent family who's enjoying a nice Sunday drive. Plus this is another reason not to buy used cars.

I live in Florida and I know how people drive.

Irregardless of your rationale for doing so, you're choosing to break the law and also choosing to demonstrate unsafe practice while undergoing a driving privilege. You put others that have not chosen to undergo the same levels of alarming driving mannerisms in danger. I would have thought that having your license taken away for some time would enlighten you to this idea.

BTW, there are plenty of legal places in Florida to race.

3k oil changes with the highest quality synthetic oil available in a very well maintained car? If my UOA were showing an engine clearly on its way to the junk yard, sure don't buy used cars but that isn't the case here and i'll keep driving it hard until 200,000 miles to prove it.

I'm not looking to extend the OCIs with this particular car.

Where did you get the mental picture that i just fly down the highway during rush hour traffic, cutting people off, tires screeching, potentially endangering some poor granny???

I like to accelerate up to speed faster then "granny style" and pass a few slower moving vehicles while i'm at it. 90% of my time on the roads are at night... deep into the night actually (1-3am) with not many cars on the roads, when i can enjoy a nice 150mph blast down the highway while going to McDonald's for a midnight snack.

I'm on the road all day (truck driver) and want to enjoy my ride when i get home... Sue me!

I didn't come here for driving lessons guys. Can we please drop it already, geez.

Not to critisize your driving, but you are a truck driver, and you've had your licence taken away 3 times....how the heck do you stay employed?

I'm quite serious with that question - I'd really like to know.

I simply took a year off...

I drove "civilized" during the year i didn't have my license (Yes i still drove around, like i still had all my papers) after my last little street racing incident where i couldn't evade the cops because there was a helicopter above me, shining a light directly through my open sunroof... Spent 30 days in jail for that one, not counting 4gs in laywer and court fees and having the car impounded for 45 days racking up $1,700 in climatic controlled storage fees. Lol. I couldn't keep my baby out in the rain like that during hurricane season.

I ended up starting my own business and still drive for a living.

So to answer your question more clearly, i lost my job. No body plans on getting caught with their pants down.

The first few UOA were with HAMP oil filters (Honda Aftermarket brand, suppose to be a little better then the el'cheapo OEM)

I then started using Amsoil's redesigned EA15k13 oil filters exclusively.

The First UAO was with M1 0w30, the next have all been Amsoil ASL 5w30 with this last one being Redline.

Wow, cause I have so much to prove with how fast my car is.

Obviously, you can't outrun a Motorola as demonstrated by your now lengthy criminal history.

So all the oil analisys results we can see were with Amsoil filters? The HAMP filter was not used in any of the results we can see in the first post? Right? If this is true than the particl counts are pretty good and consistently very low, although the OCI were not too long.
