Thanks to this message board's continued supply of knowledge for us less-than-knowlegable individuals, I discovered that my K&N was probably doing more harm than good to my motor (which i already suspected). So today I went out and purchased a Napa Gold (WIX) air filter. My question is: is anything else I should do to ensure that there's no residual damage left behind by the K&N? I know that the odds of something really bad having happened are very slim-to-none... but I'm still curious. Can never be to safe

I've also experienced nothing but goodness with the two K&Ns I'm using. One's in a 2.0L turbo & the other's in a 2.0L NA engine. My used oil analysis have consistently shown low silicon numbers. I think you can expect to see higher dirt intake numbers if you clean it frequently.
