Quick Set/Inflatable Ring type pools

Anyone have one of these?

I have this big inflatable piece that came with it and I have no idea what it is. No instructions with it so no help there. It is 8 rings, separately inflatable and would stand 3-4 feet high. Just makes a big 18' clear ring, 3-4 feet tall. Not part of the pool it self, it is fine with out this piece, just curious what it's for.

Maybe a support ring for the outside of the pool?

Says it's made by General Foam and marketed by GP Limited.

I was thinking it may be a support ring...not sure why it would be needed though.
