Ok, here goes!
I just put Delvac 1 in my truck, it has 9k on the engine, how long should I wait to do a UOA?

Whats the fundmental difference between a 0W30 and a 5W40 that would raise the oil pressure by 5psi at operting temp?

Finally, seeing that my engine is still breaking in, can I leave the oil in for an extended time-or should I change it regularly?

Ive searched this site quite a bit and have absorbed a lot of info, and actually understand about 1/3 of it! So your help is greatly appreciated!

I would go the "normal" recommended service interval...eg. 7.5k and then do a UOA. The Delvac 1 can take it.

Thicker oil will definitely improve your oil pressure. Your are seeing 30 vs 40 difference. I see this with my TR3 which has an actually oil gauge that is very sensitive. This is a great oil you are using so 6000-7500 would be a fine change interval on this stuff. You really are past quick flush changes at 9000 miles. These are good early like at 1000 miles and 3000 miles.
