Quality made in USA jack

Hello,

Say I want a hydraulic jack for lifting corners of my car up to change snow tires on and off.

It absolutely must be sturdy and deigned for the long run. It should have a nice lifting surface that isnt going to compromise, harm or destroy the metal or jackpoints on unibody cars. It has to fit under relatively low (not lowered, not sports cars) sedans and coupes, such as my Saab 9-3, Acura Integra and BMW 318i.

I dont care how heavy or light it is, I can keep it in my garage out of the elements.

It absolutely must be made in the USA.

Im not afraid to throw some extra dollars to get the quality, USA made, last forever jack. I just don't know where to start, beyond the chinese made stuff that they sell at the better auto pats stores (like the low-form aluminum ones), and the craftsman stuff, which is about the same. Obviously Im not interested in the 2-3 ton hydraulic "joke" units they sell in a kit with stands at everywhere from Autozone to k-mart.

Any suggestions???

Try Napa auto parts. They sell a lot of made in USA stuff and quality is good too. I picked up a few tire pressure gauges there and its made in USA. Perhaps you might try Harbor Freight if you have that store around.

Ill try Napa... I cant imagine that anything at HF is made in USA, let alone marginally safe... after one of their impact sockets failed on me, Im not interested in buying from them anymore...

The Tool Warehouse has a few. I don't know if they are the least expensive for these models or not though.

I particularly looked at Hein Werner W93642 2-ton that says Made in USA. Also, OTC 1525 2-ton that only says Assembled in USA. Their 3-ton versions may also be the same, but the website doesn't say. Whatever you buy, be sure to post back as I'm going to be purchasing one sometime this year.
