It's a cultural thing. Most Americans wouldn't tolerate Japanese management or work culture. It has its tradeoffs. One youtuber who is American moved to Japan to teach. She found higher pay and better overall schedule. She gave the first company two weeks notice. They told her she dishonored and shamed the company and its employees.

Silicon Valley has a similar work culture. And those with the pride in their work go the farthest around here.

I don't see How Ford & GM had so many Issues with 10 speed Transmission after 2 yrs of developed & Testing ..
then Have Big Recalls where Vehicles traveling 60-80 Mph down Highway just Locking Up ..

Meanwhile Honda come out with 10X in Accord & Mini Van is also Rated for 3000 Towing or more ..
1000 in Accord & Acura - do to less Rear Weight & Frame , but Mostly Brakes . . only had 1% If that ..
Those were all replaced - Built New Plant in GA .. ( Not a Fan ) CVT Transmissions ..

A Few Makers are having Losses Center Stacks - Communications - & - Engines from Too Much Heat
Cats are Bolted Directly to Back End of Turbo's - then - Drop Out in 90 Degree Turns for Exhaust Runs ..

Even Designed & Optioned for Special Spark Plugs - which due to heat had 2 yrs Failed Blown Ground Straps & Cracked
Insulators - Piece through % of Motors .. ( Much of this Made Public Weary of Buying New )

In some Small sectors - seeing come back with Items Built to Last 75 yrs

Electrical Vehicles have 340-455 Less Machined Items made on Lathes & Mills & Plastic Injection Molds
Some Parts very Expensive & Manufacturing Intense - costing way More .. Yet Electrical Vehicles Cost $$$$ More . .

Only Few Models Bring Leading Cutting Edge Design

Ford has had numerous issues with their 10 speed. GM has not. Source-I have owned both back to back. I had an F-150 with the ten speed-it was a total piece of garbage. I traded it in with 45,000 miles on it for a basically new (dealer demo) 2023 Silverado, which I documented on here. Between software differences and some internal parts difference-the GM is a total different animal behavior wise. This sentiment has been echoed on various truck sites across the Internet.

I have to ask Myself what ( H ) is Going on in America . . Volvo has Had Their Issues , VW all of them ..

My Old Ford - AOD that Folks were Blowing Up - I just had Sheriff Shift Kit - installed - Copy Cat
Factory with Better OD Drum .. V8 Thunderbird - Pumped Up 100 hp Ran & Shifted Nice . .

CHEVY - so - Technically Not - but GM - Recalled ?

FORD at Least didn't need Government Helping Hand then ( Turn on Stock Holders & Retiree's )

Seems everything from Industrial Spying to Sabotage - Fired Designers & Corporate Take Over's everything is in Play . .
Quality Suffered Much . .

Luckily many of Our Contracts were Militarily Supported . . we still had many Turn Downs - It's Tough Gig !

Haaa LOL , Compared to What ? M465 with Extra Low - Low or TH400 or Aisin AWTF‑80SC H Series Built in Japan . .

AOD Had to be Tweaked for Sure . . but is Used in so many Kit Cars & Truck Rods due to it's easy Compatibility . .
It did need ~ Up Graded Parts ~

Sure Today there are Far Superior Transmissions ..

Like One Ford Finally Placed in GT350 as TR-6060 6-speed automatic or Tremec TR-3160 6-speed manual . .

Please Enlighten Us . . as I Believe Ford got many of It's Idea's from all " Blue Prints & Patents is Stole "
Or Power Take Over from Companies it Bought Out or Took Over . .


Now , how did Ford go down Rabbit Hole with that Partner ship in 10 Speed must be Very Interesting story

Which was reengineered into the 4R70/4R75 that were decent units, Just like the 700R4 had a rocky start until 4L60's got better year after year.

Tremec can't design a transmission to save their life....ALL the "good" units were engineered by Borg Warner including the TR-6060 which was derived from the Borg Warner T-56.

Borg Warner used to engineer & produce automatic transmissions before that division was sold to Toyota becoming Aisin-Warner.

We've Gone through 2 American Made Refrigerators with Worst Design Faults & Issues to Point of Loosing
$285 Bucks worth of Food .. from one that Died while away for 7 days with ice maker turned off ..

P Poor Insulation to P Poor Ice Makers & Parts -1 Unit Ice Maker in Back Wall Sweated so Much entire Back Refrigerator Rusted Out
4 Yrs Old - Built like Crap ..

I Guess We had spent $2K instead of $1700 - might have gotten Better Unit = Maybe this was 2016 so On 3rd Refrigerator since 2022
Broke Out Cash $3K for Much Better Bosch .. Prior to all this Non-sense Unit Last 20yrs - We Left with Sold Home ..
During those 20yrs we just didn't realized how Bad Quality had gotten ..


Yes They are Today - Bottom Computer Line $ to Penny On Bottom_Line . & Poor Trained Inspectors .

Mostly ~ Plus many Manufactures Stream-Lining Inspection with ISO 9000, 10,000 , 14000
They all Through Math & machines are so Good Owners & Manufactures could just Lay Off 100's of Good Inspectors

I have had terrible, simultaneous, problems with both a Bosch refrigerator and dishwasher. Replaced with Samsung, also not perfect. Whirlpool in basement has run constantly, except for power outages and six months in storage,, for 34 years, without even a hiccup.

Yeah, I'm looking to run as fast as I can from hospital security. Inept management and favoritism (I think there's age discrimination as well). When half of the ED nurses have left the writing is on the wall.

I went back into security last year after getting burned out elsewhere. The ineptitude of management was so bad I quit after a month.
