Since Pepboys is running a special for 6 quarts of Q syn or Pennzoil Syn for 1.99 per quart, I am on the fence on what oil to by. I have searched for both UOA's of Pennzoil and Q. Any opinions on this?

Without a doubt I would choose the Pennzoil Platinum. Both have good additive packages but the base stocks are totally different. If I could buy Pennzoil Platinum for $1.99 per quart I would buy 6 quarts, have the wife and son buy 6 quarts each, and send the neighbors in to buy some. That's a heck of a deal on a great oil.

I was wrong it's going on till jan 28 but it is a mail in rebate. You can't just purchase it for $1.99.

I just left there! Nothing about it in their in-store sales flyer just north of Detroit. No standing floor displays & no signs in front of the oil shelves.

It's in the flyer I get in the mail, which is a taller flyer than the in store flyer. I believe both flyers are on the website.

That's it exactly (below, Vad's post). And save those nice Pennzoil handle bottle empties. They are great for storing and pouring.

The Pennzoil Platinum I got today from PepBoys has different bottles (no handle) than the one in that coupon. Is Platinum the same stuff?

Scored 14 qt of platinum today at wally world for 1.99 a qt.

If you take in the ad, wally world will match the price.

Wally world has a better oil selection in my area than pep boys.........plus I dont have to file a rebate.

You made out very good GoHeels1981. If Wallmart was matching the offer they would have limited it to 6 quarts. I am suprised they went $1.99 and not the pre-rebate coupon price of $4.49.

Did you present the coupon at the checkout or at the front/returns desk. I just may try this tomorrow.

BTW, I gotta tell ya, I'm bumming. I have 180 quarts of oil and that will last me about 7 years. I just don't need any more oil, but this deal looks great. I was buying the Pennzoil SL Synthetic last year for $2 a quart off the shelf, no rebate, at Meijer on closeout. I should have stopped at that, but foolishly added 17 more quarts from closeouts at Murrays. Problem was the Murrays stuff was $2.85.

Pep Boys has the coupon special over here in Clovis too. I'm going to take the add over to Kragen's and see if they will match the price so I don't have to mess with the rebate like (GoHeels1981) did with Walmart.

If my motor seizes up from using this stuff, I will hunt all of you Guys down and...
