So I was at my Hyundai dealership today and I always like to ask the guys in there about what they think is the best whatever for my car. I asked about oil wt and brand and I was not surprised that they said they prefer and use quaker state dino. It reccomends it right in the book and they have ads all over the maintance area but the one thing they did say that I thought was intristing is that quaker state dino 5w30 "minimizes friction-related wear 2X better then the wear standard set by top american and japanese auto manufacturers". The guys claim that is the reason why Hyundai says to use them because they are very good with reducing wear.

So my question is do all sm 5w30 oil reduce wear just as well? Is quaker state the only one that is 2x better?? If not then why does no one else advertise this?

why fuzz over marketing catchwords?

It's meaningless to most experienced BITOGers for they are good oil with UOAs and proper certifications to begin with.

So, your point is?

p.s. I care about you 10x more but disregard you for 20x, does that make sense to you? *grin*

QS is the factory fill at the Hyundai plant in Alabama. Not because it's 2x better but because of the great contract Shell made them. Not sure they are still doing it, but when the plant first started using QS they were using the synthetic, not the conventional oil. 2x better is a catchy advertising phrase.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

I'm SICK of this 'X' times better stuff!

Sorry....I'm better now...you were saying?

On a realted note to what Johnny said, QS is making a real push to be seen more up here, as well. When you go to Canadian Tire now, their 'base' oil change package now often features QS dino, rather than Motomaster dino.
