When it comes to oil inside an engine.

You do realize that the engine itself is about 15 times more restrictive to oil flow than an oil filter. So what that means is the oil filter is a minor impedance to oil flow from a positive displacement oil pump.

This is something many people do not grasp/understand ... that is, the only time the restriction to flow from an oil filter ever matters is when the oil pump is in pressure relief mode (usually around 80~100 psi). And that rarely happens except with cold oil and high engine revs. When it does happen, the pressure drop across the filter is still only ~1/15h of the total pressure drop across the engine ... so again, it really doesn't matter much.

And also, Jim Allen has backed up the proof that PureOnes are not restrictive with his data logging delta-p sensor setup on his truck. Nobody can make the determination if an oil filter is "restrictive" or not without real measurement data.

^^^That is a classic P1 thread along with Super Busa's previously linked P1 flow thread. I posted the linked beta rate thread above as a reference for Z06, as he asked for it, not too long ago.

You could also add river_rat's filter testing thread to more evidence why P1 is generally respected here.

All this flow and efficiency data on the PureOne has been posted and linked over and over on this site ... but still yet, people can't get the "PureOne filters are too restrictive" falsehood out of their minds for some reason.

Purolator actually did themselves a favor by giving SuperBusa that lab test data. I think they also wanted to know the answer to the original reason why he contacted them, therefore ran the flow vs delta-p test. I don't think Purolator would run that test for everyone that asked without some information/data benefit to Purolator engineering also.

Guess the "PureOnes are too restrictive" rumor must have got started based on some guys garage test (instead of solid and controlled lab test data) that somehow brainwashed everyone on the internet.
