Tried a Purolator on LX7317 on somebody else’s car for an OCI.

Lots of loose glue on the paper. I’m highly doubtful it went into bypass.

What is that glue’s function? I guess i am not familiar with that particular design.
To hold the filter media and end caps together, not really that vital honestly I don't think it would result in any issue but loose/sloppy glue is unacceptable just like their efficiency ratings.

Right, i understand glue for the media and end caps, but in picture #3, it appears a “slathering of glue” was applied between the ADBV and the metal end cap. If I am seeing that correctly, that is what I am asking about. I would be concerned about glue bypassing and entering the passages.

Yes you are right to be concerned.. and you can also see it loose in the media.

This is obviously not so rare as here is another recent brand new one below with the same issue and even so.. How could you even begin to trust this brand? .. You just install the filter and cross your fingers that you didn't get a bad one wondering what is inside?

What a sick joke by Purolator. The filters glue came undone and stuck in media. Someone at Purolator should get a bullet for this fail. UN-ACCEPTABLE

OP: what went back on and in? Hopefully no pirolators.

Thank You

Back to the default jobber filter, Baldwin.
