To hold the filter media and end caps together, not really that vital honestly I don't think it would result in any issue but loose/sloppy glue is unacceptable just like their efficiency ratings. What is that glue’s function? I guess i am not familiar with that particular design.
Right, i understand glue for the media and end caps, but in picture #3, it appears a “slathering of glue” was applied between the ADBV and the metal end cap. If I am seeing that correctly, that is what I am asking about. I would be concerned about glue bypassing and entering the passages. To hold the filter media and end caps together, not really that vital honestly I don't think it would result in any issue but loose/sloppy glue is unacceptable just like their efficiency ratings.
What a sick joke by Purolator. The filters glue came undone and stuck in media. Someone at Purolator should get a bullet for this fail. UN-ACCEPTABLETried a Purolator on LX7317 on somebody else’s car for an OCI.
Lots of loose glue on the paper. I’m highly doubtful it went into bypass. View attachment 293526View attachment 293527View attachment 293528View attachment 293529

OP: what went back on and in? Hopefully no pirolators.
Thank You
Yes you are right to be concerned.. and you can also see it loose in the media.
This is obviously not so rare as here is another recent brand new one below with the same issue and even so.. How could you even begin to trust this brand? .. You just install the filter and cross your fingers that you didn't get a bad one wondering what is inside?
Sample size of one and all that good stuff.
Bought a Purolator LX7317 at Wally World. I think I’ll continue to pass on Purolator.
Lots of loose glue. I can’t guarantee that that I didn’t knock anything loose cutting the filter element, but I found 3 large pieces of loose adhesive inside the pleats. Lots of loose glue outside the element. Half of the top metal plate didn’t adhere, but I doubt that matters under pressure.
