Stopped into AAP and saw a tiny clearance rack of filters. None i could use, maybe this one though. Clerk scanned it and still was $10.99! It is 3/4 16 and i was thinking could be used on a Zetec motor.

No thanks Puro

The Zetec Purolator part number is 25230

They seemed to stop making them before the tearing issues started, so if you can actually find a 25230 on the shelf, it won't tear, but it will be too old to use.

Wix still makes the 51315, and Fram still makes the PH8316. In fact, I have a March 2018-production PH8316, and Walmart still carries it. If you want a synthetic filter for extended use, your only option is the Wix XP/Napa Platinum.

The Fram equivalent is PH2870A and they list applications it fits here. It fits some automobiles but mostly looks to be used on "equipment".

Slacktide_bitog: is it me or does this appear to be old production? AAP had no L25230 filters also. Rural King is cheapest place I find TG 8316

It is indeed old production

The fourth digit of that date code indicates the year. In this case, A means 2009
F11A20C1

11 - Month (November)
A - Year (2009)
20.. th day of the month ( so in this case, November 20)

That filter is 9 years old

OLD?

I have some oil filters going on 20 years old, and I still use them.

I have never had a failure yet.
