Purolator Boss C&P on Ford 4.6L 1500 miles on HPL 5w-20 PCMO

Long time lurker, first post. Just got on the HPL train thanks to this site and here is the first filter off one of two vehicles. It is a Ford Explorer Sport trac with 209k on the clock, 1500 miles on a PBL24651 filter. Interesting carbon gunk in the pleats.

A little history: Bought the truck at 175K, Previous owner changed every 7500k with "whatever was on sale at Autozone." I ran Kirkland Signature 5w-20 in it up until know, when I switched to HPL PCMO 5w-20 in this and my 2014 Outback.

That's a Purolator Boss and 1500 miles into my first run of HPL. Prior fill was Kirkland 5w-20.

Very typical to find small carbonaceous debris in filters when using HPL; its cleaning agents really scrub an engine well.
This looks like I would expect it to be.

Thanks! Its pretty exciting. I'll post up my Subaru FB2.5 C&P on the filter after 2500 miles, pretty boring compared to this!

Adding a little update here: So these pics are from the second filter cut at 4200 miles of running HPL. Looks really good, quite boring actually! That's most of the filter, not quite all. Enjoy.

My next change on my cobra ( 1 years old change ) will using The Boss filter.
