I know they are both top shelf filters but I was wondering if one had an edge over the other. In a recent thread someone mentioned switching from Wix to PureOne after some talcum powder test somebody ran. I searched but can't find anything on that. Anyone got a link?

Also, Wix says their silicone anti-drainback valve is better than the common nitrile ones like on the PureOne. I was wondering if there was any truth to this claim or if it is just marketing B.S. that needs to be sifted through and ignored.

Both are silicone and they are better than nitrile.

Both use silicone.

IMO the best one is the one on sale.

I use WIX and Pureone and it just comes down to which one I can get for the best price and I usually buy several at that time.

How are the P1 filters too restrictive and how do they raise the oil pressure? Enlighten me.

BTW, what happened to the Bosch claim that PureONE media did NOT change with color change? Since when it was verified that the media was changed with color?

From data that I have seen, the PureONE is far and away superior to WIX, and as SuperBusa has shown over and over again (are you listening, ZGRider?), NOT restrictive. Check out his thread on this page for the evidence; and mine passing on the PureONE's beta ratios. WIX is a good filter, just not in PureONE's league. Looking over the WIX web site, I could only find that they list a rating of 25um at 100%, but say nothing specific for anything less.

FRAM!!!

Even Fram will work. The airfilter is the most important filter.

Read these ZGRider ... SHAMUS, do you think the "too restrictive" rumor will ever die?

BTW - I use both WIX/NAPA Gold and PureONE. Both are great filters, but the PureONE has a higher filtering efficiency than the WIX/NAPA Gold based on the beta ratio data.

I agree with Steve S. regular Fram filters do meet minimum specs, they just don't exceed them like many other filters. Fram filters will work just fine for manufacturer's suggested OCI.
