One more time. Any filter that does not say WIX on it is not a WIX filter ("Made by Wix" doesn't count). Any other filter that we make, is made to the specs of the customer. Some customers do use rebranded Wix filters as their top shelf offerings. Filters on the lower shelves are to the customers specs.

That said, the media that you are refering to is supposed to be hard. It contains a phenolic resin, that when heat cured, hardens the media after the pleating process. It did not crumble or break during use did it? Were the pleats, except around the seam, pretty uniform? The element filtered out what it was designed to filter out, right? Therefore it did the job it was designed to do.

Do you think the PureONE filters would have a more flexible media?

From the ones I've cut open, yes. I still have some in the garage that I can double-check when I get a chance.

The pleats were actually quite bent out of shape. They looked like a wave. I'm not saying it's a bad filter, I'd still use them. I've used a number of them without issue and I can get them for a very good price. And I know it's not necessarily a Wix, hence why I said it was a lower-tier version. I just meant that it was made by Wix and I must have worded it poorly.

I'll tell you another disturbing made filter, NAPA's Pro select filters, the media is very very thin and just after very brittle, could tear it easily with finger,i bought another one thinking i had a bad one but the second one was just the same, junk filters IMO never buy another.

If it's made by WIX, and is just rebranded - no other differences (ie, NAPA Gold ??), then it's still really a WIX filter IMO. The label doesn't change the can or the guts.

None, except the graphics.

I never said otherwise. The above was in reference to a NAPA Pro Select.

Ah, ok. I apologize because I did assume you meant all rebadged Wix filters. I've always read the Napa Golds are the same as the Wix. I'd use either of them, but Napa is 1/4 mile down the road.

Amazon.com had some deals on them a while back and they offered Free Super Saver Shipping. Not sure how that would work in Honolulu, but it would be easy enough to find out.

The free shipping did not apply to Hawaii. Pretty expensive to ship to Hawaii and usually the free shipping on Amazon does not apply unless it is a small item.
