Pronto/PG PO1A New C&P

This is a new Pronto/Premium Guard filter ordered from RockAuto under VariousMFR. I ordered two of these at $2.94 each, better then an FL1A at $5.55 on RA. I wanted to cut one of these open before I ran it on my Bronco, considering the price point I was expecting a rough looking filter, but this thing looked nice.

Overall the Pronto looked very nice and I may even just swap this one with the MC FL1A that is on now considering the condition of the last one I cut open.

The Pronto weighed 520g while the MC weighed 405g, pretty substantial. The Pronto had 66 pleats that I counted. PO1A is Made in China, FL1A Made in USA.
PO(0?)1A vs FL1A physical comparison. The MC is a little shorter, other then that they are very similar.

It has a nice metal crimp with lots of nice even pleats. Glue is pretty even on the top as well.

The Bypass Valve:

The rubber ABDV. MC is Silicone.

Nice big holes for oil to flow through. This whole metal assembly was very solid too, pretty much no flex when I tried manhandling it.

Another nice set of holes in the center tube for those who don't like louvres.

Looks good! Didn’t realize the FL-1A was getting a silicone ADBV these days, they were always nitrile before. Should renumber them “FL-1S”! Shame Mann forgot how to build them correctly…

Nice trick with the level to compare the filter height but we all KNOW that table is not level. Nice try!
