For my “beater” commuter 13 Acura RDX desperately in need of tires (wear bars flat across) I decided on cheap Walmart tires.

Guessing a China brand called Prinx. They were dirt cheap at $99/tire and $18/tire install for a Snowflake rated all-season.

First impression very quiet , no vibrations and smooth from 0-75 MPH. Walmart did a great balance job and installer was nice and professional.

I will let you know how they do in rain and snow.

My daughter’s certified pre-owned 2022 Mazda CX-5 had Prinx Hicountry HT2 installed by the dealer. I was not too thrilled and figured I would just buy another set of tires, however, they seem perfectly fine.

Nice tread pattern. Keep us posted. A lot of Chinese name tires get a bad story but are actually decent tires and half those who dis’em never even driven on them.

$99 is a great price for 18-inch all-weather tires. I hope they serve you well

They're nice but the biggest bummer for me is in five years when I need tires again that particular brand isn't around, or they jacked up the price now that everyone knows they're good.

That's ok because another cheaper brand will take its place

That tread pattern looks like a Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack/Alenza AS Ultra or Turanza EverDrive.

I had high expectations for a pair of Sailuns on the cab(made in Cambodia, designed in China), the sipes were mostly full-depth with some Michelin-style 3D siping on the shoulder blocks but he said they were slippery in the rain. Ugh.

To correct something they are Made in Thailand but made company is Chinese.

The cars that came on my MG (chinese car) are Maxxis (taiwanese brand IIRC) and are surprisingly fine. I say surprisingly as in my experience factory tyres aren't very good in the wet and these are. Wear seems to be ok too, I'm likely to get 60, maybe 80k out of them.

I doubt the tyres get shipped to China, I suspect Maxxis has a chinese factory near shanghai.

They have decent wet traction. 70 mph heavy rain no issues and wet tight traffic circles no significant slippage.

After getting burned on the wear on two sets of Generals for my Camry (both sets shot at 40k) I don't think I am a brand guy when it comes to tires anymore. If they function above their price, who cares about the who/what/where of them?

Do you get your vehicles aligned before purchasing tires? I have had great luck with General and really all tires as brand name installer does alignment check for $70 and $140 for full alignment if needed. I did not align the RDX however it needs suspension work so won’t be able to accurately speak to longevity.

I've been looking at tires for our Honda Pilot. Especially all weather tires, with the 3 peak mountain snowflake. I'm seeing new marketing of tires with this rating, but mostly with a $250 to $300 price point (for our size). The Prinx tire is not priced like that, so it's on the short list so far. Your posting, and Slick's too, have got my interest. Thanks greatly.

No, but there is nothing in the way that she drives that would hint at an alignment issue. Granted, she almost certainly needs some suspension work, but she drives straight as an arrow... if a little bit of a bouncy arrow. Either way, I doubt it was enough to knock 25k miles off of the rated tread on two sets.
