I’ve mentioned this in a couple of threads but thought I’d clarify it for any interested or who could benefit.
Common knowledge here that a 3600 series equivalent is a good upsize for a 3614 size filter if you have the room. But the excellent Premium Guard 3600 series made filters come in two different sizes.
The 3614 filters are generally 3.3/3.4 ok inches tall regardless of make. Most 3600 series are about 4.75 inches tall. The PG 3600 equivalents in the Premium Guard and EcoGard 195 lines are about 4 inches tall. I find this a handy size, just enough to get those last 4 ounces in the Mustang for an even 6 qts or double the size on my mower and still have clearance. Other PG made 3600 series (like a Carquest Premium) are the full 4.75 inches.
A couple pictures below for visual reference. A Carquest Premium 3614 equivalent, a EcoGard 195 and a standard Fram 3600.
