Post your new battery purchase.

Yes, extreme heat and cold kills batteries. 13 yrs is exceptional for a battery for an Odyssey, especially in that heat !!!! Are they FLA or AGM these X2 batteries ??? Have a Batteries Plus 15 miles from my home.
They use new instead of recycled lead that is also made ultra pure. They can make the plates thinner so they can use more of them. I should have mentioned that in the van that lasted 13 years also had a solar panel on the roof to keep it toped off. Batteries do not like to sit discharged or even slightly. Wife's 2021 Chevy Blazer just had an 16 month old Duracell replaced under warranty with a bad intermitting cell. It would test fine and fail again. I had a hard time with warranty until I caught it sitting at 10 volts and took it back in. Pissed me off because 16 months ago because I sent her to buy an X2 and her stupid son intervened and she wound up with a garbage Duracell. Replaced under warranty this time but they would not upgrade me to X2 even if I paid the difference. I’ll be in this situation again in 18 months I’m sure. But yeah if you have a Batteries Plus dealer in town grab an X2. They are not as cheap but avoiding the hassle of dealing with junk batteries is worth it. Do not buy any lithium. They fry alternators because of low internal resistance and capacitance. If that does not get you then the wild voltage spikes with fry other electronics.

Does Batteries Plus ever have discounts on them? I got my Odysseys from Napa utilizing their 20% off. Made it more palatable and closer to all the other batteries.

I keep all my cars on a Noco 2 Genius tender when not used. Ran fused wiring that comes out the bumper and just plug it in. FLA batteries like to be fully charged. These parasitic draws from computers and alarms drag them down. Last I read, the average car nowadays has over 40 computers in it.

The only car I have that is connected all the time is my S4. It sits in the garage and is never driven. I have it on a CTEK 7002. My other cars do get driven at least once a week if not every day. I do however try to connect them to a charger once a week. The Honda has a 51r and I use a CTEK MXS 5.0 for that and the 2 Subarus have Odysseys and I bought the Odyssey branded 15 amp charger. I don't have any wires connected permanently though.

Yeah, got tired of opening the hood to hook it up. Just ran some 14 gauge inside plastic wire loom. Connected to battery and zip tied it to the bumper. The leads have end cap plugs on them to keep out salt and water. Takes some time wrangling that wire to keep it away from sharp metal ends, or radiator / condenser...But it works well. One FLA going on 8yrs. That Noco 2 Genius has a de-sulfation process it runs thru everytime you hook it up. I think it actually works, or helps at the least !!!! The cars go in a garage every nite, so it was easy to hook it up to an outlet. Even trained the wife to plug in her car for the night.

I'm jealous. I only have a one car garage. That is where my S4 is. One car is in the driveway and the other 2 are in the street in front of the house.

The CTEKs also supposedly de-sulfate. I guess time will tell...

Well, in you're case, makes no sense to run wiring. Yes, I believe the C-Teks de-sulate too. Most of the better brands do that. Sulfation chokes a battery. The S4 on the C-Tek ...that battery will last a long time. As long as you run those other cars, the batteries will be fine. No worries.:)

Yeah man. I drive my Impreza almost every day but my commute is short. 5 miles each way. My wife on the other hand drives 40+ miles each way. She splits the mileage between the CRV and Legacy. So, one car will always sit a few days and sometimes up to a week which is why I pop each one on a charger once a week if possible. Even though she drove the Legacy yesterday, I just popped it on the charger. Later today or probably tomorrow, the CRV will go on one.

Yes. If you purchase online from Batteries Plus.com and pick up at a local store, saves 10%. Watch for a sale...(frequent), and they will offer another 10% off. They have a 20% off coupon on their home page right now...not sure if you can stack that with the 10% local pick up. I know you could with the 10% coupon, as I had done that previously.

FCP Euro sells Odyssey with a lifetime warranty.

One and done. If it ever fails, you order a new one (free ship), send the old one back (you pay return ship) for store credit.
They warranty everything for life, but only works if you own a european car to spend the credits on.

The battery died in my parents' Smart ForTwo and I knew the battery in their 325 was getting up there - so I went ahead and replaced both for them with:

EverStart Platinum AGM H8 (Made in Germany) for a 2006 BMW 325ci
EverStart Platinum AGM H5 (Made in Mexico) for a 2008 Smart ForTwo

I was surprised to see how "fresh" the batteries were with August and September 2025 dates - purchased on September 4th.

The Autocraft AGM battery in the 325 never needed a jump since being installed in 2014 (8/14 mfg date)! I am curious how much longer it would've held up. Hopefully they get (at least) another 11 years out of the EverStart. My 328 has a lead-acid Autocraft also from 2014 but it has lived a much easier life spending half of each year on a battery tender.
