Noco Genius 5 battery charger review

Be careful running that lithium titanate oxide battery. Unless that battery has a special BMS (battery management system) that automatically limits the charging current, it will put a tremendous load on your alternator if it ever gets run down. If it does not, you need to have a regulated charger to charge it back up with instead of using the alternator. Those batteries charge so fast that they will take every last bit of juice your alternator can produce and then some and possibly cook it.

It comes with a BMS but thank you for the warning, I did not know that.

Will ask the manufacturer about the charging rate. Sucks that the NOCO doesn't work with it if ever it gets run down with the lights left on or something.

Hopefully they have already engineered current limiting into the battery in one way or another.
